Mayfair is known around the world as one of the most prestigious locations in the UK. Even those who have never been to England may well have heard of Mayfair due to its location as the most sought after area on the Monopoly board. There are a number of reasons why people are drawn to Mayfair to either live or work, and for those who can afford this postcode, it is a desirable and pleasant location. Here are a few pros and cons of looking at Mayfair office space.
Pros
Like most areas in central London, Mayfair is full to the brim of restaurants and bars, which will allow employees to unwind following their working week. The majority of Londoners tend to pile into the nearest pub at the end of the day, but the added benefit of Mayfair is the standard of these establishments. Like the area itself, the businesses which it encompasses are five star, and add a certain opulence to wining and dining. This can also be a bonus if you have clients you need to take for a business lunch, or entertain. The bars and restaurants in this area are sure to impress and set a sophisticated tone for the evening.
While the bars and restaurants add appeal to Mayfair, the streets and surroundings themselves add to a laid back, relaxed atmosphere, in which you will want to spend time. Pretty tree lined streets, and well kept town houses make up this pretty area, and the quietness of the neighbourhood allows you to escape from the normal hustle and bustle of an inner city, whilst remaining close by to all amenities.
Mayfair as an area has become increasingly commercial and is known as the home of specialist shops, galleries and tailors, which makes browsing during a lunch hour an enjoyable experience, not to mention the ease with which you will be able to pick up a smart suit for work.
As for transport links, these are vital as it is likely that employees will be commuting into work from other areas. With Green Park Tube Station, and Bond Street Tube Station providing direct access to the area, the commute could not be easier.
Cons
The only real downside to having a Mayfair office space is the cost element - this prestigious area comes with a high price tag. There is little room financially for small start up businesses in the area, unless they have a great deal of capital from the get go. Vitally your business needs to consider its consumer base - if the affluent who frequent Mayfair are the customers who you need to visit and be aware of your office, this is an ideal situation for your company, and perhaps a worthwhile investment.
The cost involved in renting office space in Mayfair must be factored into any business plan, and it should be assessed whether this pricey area is necessary. If it can be afforded, office space in this area is going to benefit both the company and employees.
